Christian Clegg is an assistant to the city manager in Stockton. His title was incorrect in the print and initial online versions of this story. The error has been corrected online.

STOCKTON - Mayor Anthony Silva's dual role at City Hall and as CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stockton might clash tonight in a discussion over who will run a city swimming pool this summer.

The Boys & Girls Club seeks to operate the Sousa Pool, one of the city's seven.

Silva says he has it on good authority that there exists no conflict of interest for him. The City Attorney's Office says it isn't convinced and recommends the City Council avoid a potentially sticky situation.

The City Council tonight will vote either to contract with the Boys & Girls Club to operate the pool at a cost to the city of $5,000, or have the city run the pool itself, at a cost of $25,000.
