The lack of Privacy in modern society, and how it will hurt us all

If we as americans are comfortable in this present time, we are not true Americans. The lack of Privacy seem a bit overboard, from my point of view, which I can't say I'm right,  nor can anyone tell me I'm wrong,  when I say that our very freedom,  fought for by our forefathers , is in jeopardy, and only time will tell when and if we are willing to do the same to keep it.

It seems like we hear about politicians who are not getting a good reputation by the media outlets, for various reasons.   There are some better stories that are raunchier, or more lewd, even more revealing than this one.

Here in Stockton, California, a new scandal has broke, allegedly involving two reports form the cities newspaper owned by Dow Jones.  A few of the papers' writers also have some blog called: esanjoaquin.com.  On this blog one reporter has accused the Mayor, Anthony Silva, of some trumped up jargonistic charge.  This reporter is claiming the Mayor's private email suggests that he has done something new,  and discredits the Mayor, giving a legitimate reason as to why he said what he said.

If you've ever had the feeling that your privacy was being violated, then you should agree that some stuff is meant to stay private.  Especially if and when the information obtained, it was obtained through illegal activities.  In this case the reporter has gone too far passed the point of intrusion.  This criminal like behaviour should be seen in the same light as tresspassing, mail tampering, and many other hacking charges or even espionage would serve the reporter justice.

If we're allowing them to say we don't have the Right to privacy, it is basically an advanced intimidation tactic, which causes some to live in fear, contemplating; what do they know?  Just look at the game decided most important to the worlds wealthiest; it would obviously be politics at every level.  This is where the elite share the riches we work for.

Sounds a bit like slavery to me!

With this beastly force that's oppressing the inhabitants of earth, by any means necessary, to ensure the truth cannot be heard.  When great leaders who emerge from the masses,  representing the masses, they are first offered a buyout, if this is refused it leads to scandals and manipulations or lies about the candidate/politician, which then cause the people to reduce the value of their judgement.   Also most of these people are manipulated by the propaganda providers, and therefore encourage the dismantling of their own community.

Know this Stockton, Anthony Silva is doing the best job he can but he needs our help to push the oppressors back.  Stop supporting mock journalism.   A true journalist will not bias a particular party or person, because they that do, are willing to lie, or cover up the truth for political gain.  This is a major disservice to its readers and the community in which they report, by leading us astray.

Stop supporting fraudulent journalism,  that helps corrupt politicians hide, yet exposing stuff that has no interest in the public atmosphere.  If you enjoy your privacy help protect your own by sticking up for those whose privacy has been breached.  If we don't, it will sooner or later be your turn to have yours breached as well.

I will be there for all of the people who are having their rights trampled, because if you don't stand up for your rights, we will all lose them.  Give yourself the respect that you have as an American and help protect the land of the free, and the home of the brave!

oh zee TV: California blocks NDAA indefinite detention law

Thank you governor Brown.  We need more governors to stand up to their own oath of office.  All political leaders had to swear to uphold protect and defend the constitution of the United States from threats both foreign and domestic.

Please beware of the propaganda machine,  aka "the mainstream media." They're just not getting the right information to us, so we can use our judgement to make informed decisions.   This eventually leads us down the wrong path, to encourage us to vote for stuff we don't want for our country.

Be vigilant America, read every side of every story, and draw your own conclusion.  We can't continue to be brainwashed into believing that things like Obamacare  are good for us.  Education is what we need to invest in, and it starts with us educating ourselves first, then our children.

God Bless America,
Greg Pitsch

Silva sends message on Measure A with mailer | Recordnet.com

Silva sends message on Measure A with mailer | Recordnet.com: "By Scott Smith Record Staff Writer August 09, 2013 12:00 AM STOCKTON - No, it's not campaign season, but that didn't stop Mayor Anthony Silva from sending out a glossy mailer Thursday to thousands of voters in Stockton. The two-sided piece shows Silva at a microphone talking crime. Bullet points and a graphic indicate a drop this year in homicides by 63 percent and robberies by 28 percent. Silva is making a statement on the city's 3/4-cent sales tax increase called Measure A, which will go on the ballot Nov. 5. "We have come a long way, but we still have a long way to go," it reads, adding that if the sales tax passes, it "will get us 120 more police officers." So far, 8,000 mailers have gone o"

Central Valley Business Times | State Controller gets feedback from City Officials

Central Valley Business Times: "•  Says audits fall short •  “Much of their conclusion are two years old or more” The city of Stockton is as critical of state Controller John Chiang as he is of the city’s management and council.

On Monday, Mr. Chiang released the results of three audits of the bankrupt city’s financial management. The only positive thing revealed was that Mr. Chiang’s investigations could turn up no criminal conduct.

Now the city is criticizing the audits. The city’s main points, largely in its words: • The audit covers primarily “old” information going back to FY 2003-2004 up to June 2011. “Much of their conclusion are two years old or more,” says the city.

• The report does nothing more than rehash and make conclusions about problems already identified and well-documented by the city. It does not take into account that the city is and has been aggressively and comprehensively addressing the issue that contributed to its insolvency status."

Mayor too polarizing to continue | Recordnet.com

Mayor too polarizing to continue | Recordnet.com:

'via Blog this'

Six months into his term, it has become painfully clear that Mayor Anthony Silva is unfit for office. The question is what to do about it.

And no, I am not proposing his recall. Yet, I am putting recall on the table, though with a couple other options. And frankly, I am warming to the idea.

Silva's kooky performance at Tuesday's council meeting demonstrates why he is temperamentally and politically unfit to serve as mayor.

Having suffered the complete collapse of his one-issue agenda, the deeply flawed Safe Streets initiative, Tuesday's vote to put a different, and better, tax plan on the ballot offered the politically isolated mayor a golden opportunity.

He had the chance to reconcile with the council and city manager he arrogantly tried to marginalize. A chance to become a part of the team that has worked so well to restore Stockton.

Council members dive into question of conflict of interest

By Scott Smith
Record Staff Writer

CORRECTION: May 7, 2013
Christian Clegg is an assistant to the city manager in Stockton. His title was incorrect in the print and initial online versions of this story. The error has been corrected online.

STOCKTON - Mayor Anthony Silva's dual role at City Hall and as CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stockton might clash tonight in a discussion over who will run a city swimming pool this summer.

The Boys & Girls Club seeks to operate the Sousa Pool, one of the city's seven.

Silva says he has it on good authority that there exists no conflict of interest for him. The City Attorney's Office says it isn't convinced and recommends the City Council avoid a potentially sticky situation.

The City Council tonight will vote either to contract with the Boys & Girls Club to operate the pool at a cost to the city of $5,000, or have the city run the pool itself, at a cost of $25,000.

Anthony Silva was the Punch-line of a Jay Leno Joke

This Top 10 list dedicated to Jay Leno

Jay Leno, likely with the help of PhotoShop, used this photo as part of a recent monologue dig at Stockton. This image of the photo was supplied to The Record by none other than Stockton Mayor Anthony Silva.

For Stockton, there's no escaping the wrath of Jay Leno.

"Stockton Bankruptcy" jokes are peppering his monologues almost on a nightly basis.

Many are, as Atlantic magazine once described Leno's general comedic repertoire, "groan worthy."

"Stockton is even price gouging at the 99 Cent Stores." "Lindsay Lohan won't shoplift there." "The city's founding father wants a paternity test."

Meh. Even with joke writers doing the work, that's the best he's got?

Ah, but giving credit where it's due, a couple of Leno's digs were first-rate.

"You know what they call 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' in Stockton? 'Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.' "

"Stockton is so broke, their meth labs just give out Sudafed."

But there are so many things that Leno does not realize about Stockton. It's our civic duty to make him more informed.

So, in honor of a more-talented talk-show host, David Letterman, here are the Top 10 things about which Jay Leno is Stockton-ignorant:

» No. 10: There are many fine restaurants here - excellent places to dine. But Leno would likely choose to break bread at Burger King. His comedy was once described by a more talented talk-show host, Jimmy Kimmel, as, "A master chef who has opened a Burger King."

» No. 9: We do have crime, and some of it is committed with knives. None of the knife wounds, however, compare with the one Leno administered to a more-talented talk-show host, Conan O'Brien.

» No. 8: Many of Stockton's fiscal troubles can be traced to poor economic decisions made in the past. Stockton was its own worst enemy. Bad financial decisions come in many forms including, say, NBC needing to fork over $45 million to O'Brien and his staff upon departure to clean up Leno's mess.

» No. 7: Bankruptcy? That's so 1994. Or at least that was the year Leno's neighboring Orange County declared bankruptcy - giving a whole new meaning to the phrase "I'm going to Disneyland."

» No. 6: One of the prides of Stockton is the late, great actress Janet Leigh, whose five-decade career included such memorable movies as "Psycho," "The Manchurian Candidate" and "Little Women." You have to appreciate her grace and excellence and how it comparatively overshadows Leno's movie credits of "Fun With Dick and Jane," "Scooby-Doo and the Goblin King" and "Polyester."

» No. 5: There's culture in Stockton from a symphony to a civic theater to a great museum to the Brubeck Institute and more. We're just a short jaunt away from Sierra Repertory Theatre in Columbia and its shows at Fallon House - which, by the way, is not named for a more-talented talk-show host, Jimmy Fallon.

» No. 4: Stockton is home to the San Joaquin Delta, University of the Pacific, Stockton Arena, Stockton Ballpark and Burns Tower - all of which are smaller than Leno's chin.

» No. 3: Stockton doesn't do well in "ratings" - just ask the folks at Forbes. But we'd hope Leno's fifth-rated NBC network (behind ABC, CBS, Fox and Telemundo) could empathize with our plight, unless it's too busy trying to hold off Encore and The Golf Channel.

» No. 2: Stocktonians are excellent at making comparisons. For instance: Johnny Carson is to Jay Leno as Jay Leno is to Andrew Dice Clay.

» And the No. 1 Thing Jay Leno Should Know About Stockton: We are so genuinely nice and sophisticated that we wouldn't urinate on Leno and his Stockton jokes even if he were a fire hydrant.

Wait. He once did play the role of a fire hydrant. In the movie "Robots."

Well, that changes everything.

Whose Misery?: White Privilege in Stockton, CA

Why the racism, can't you be happy that somebody at least pointed out the greater things to life in stockton, the way to get rid of racism is to get rid of political parties, and finally consider ourselves American. Or try to not talk about racism, because you will speak it into existence.

He isn't being racist, a term that's defined as; hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

Where does Basso show any hatred or intolerance of another race?
